Blind Guardian - music band founded in Krefeld in Germany in 1984. Together with the team considered the progenitor of Helloween power metal. Group originally appeared under the name Lucifer's Heritage, and for several days under names such as: Battery and Raging Waters.
The texts of the group songs are inspired by fairy-tale fantasy world, as exemplified by the album Nightfall in Middle-Earth, which is entirely a musical interpretation of the "Silmarillion" by JRR Tolkien. A breakthrough in the history of the band was an album A Night at the Opera, where he found a unique style reflected the musicians, having a multi-voice polyphony and vocals. The theme songs are here including Arthurian myths, the Crusades and the Trojan War. The penultimate band album, A Twist In The Myth, is in some ways returning to its roots, offering music, a little simpler and more austere.
